Alternative Flours for Healthy Holiday Baking

Coconut Flour is a gluten-free alternative to bleached white flour that is rich in both protein and fiber. In a 

serving size of 14 grams of flour, there are 2 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber, 10 grams of carbohydrates 

and 1 gram of fat. Coconut flour is also a great source of manganese, which supports the synthesis of 

cholesterol and fats, and is needed for proper thyroid function. Choose recipes that call for coconut flour 

over bleached white flour and make your holidays healthy!

Almond Meal Flour is also rich in protein and fiber; however, it contains fewer carbohydrates per serving
